Welcome to Dark Water Designs!! The name of my business is inspired by the dark swampy waters of the Lumber River which flows through Robeson County, home of my people, the Lumbee Indians. I am currently featuring Lumbee Pinecone Patchwork Art in a contemporary design. The pinecone patchwork is deeply rooted in the Lumbee culture dating back to the 1800’s. My prayer is that my contemporary approach on the traditional design truly resonates in the lives of the Lumbee people and honors those that have paved the path before us. I feel so fortunate to be able to produce an art form that means so much to so many people. God has truly blessed me and continues to amaze me on a daily basis!
